About Hiboru

Our Story

Hiboru was born from a shared vision between longtime friends and San Francisco-based design colleagues, Kaz Saegusa and Chuck Yust. After years of collaborating at frog design, we decided to channel creative effort into creating streetwear that speaks to both our professional sensibilities and personal tastes.

The name "Hiboru" draws inspiration from the Japanese "haiboru" (highball whiskey drink), reimagined with the English "hi" greeting and the Japanese word for ball—"boru." This fusion reflects our approach: bringing together Western and Eastern design philosophies while elevating the visual approach to sport.

Our Approach

We believe in the intersection of West Coast streetwear energy and Japanese minimalist precision. Each piece we create embodies this balance—bold yet refined, expressive yet disciplined.

Our design process centers on answering questions we've asked ourselves: What would team gear look like if it were created by designers who understand both street culture and clean aesthetics?

Starting with Baseball

Our inaugural collection honors Japanese baseball players like Shohei Ohtani who are bridging cultures, transcending borders and reshaping America's pastime.

Looking Forward

Hiboru is just beginning. We're committed to expanding our vision across different teams and styles, always maintaining our core philosophy: statement-worthy apparel that appeals to design-conscious fans.

We invite you to join us on this journey as we continue to create gear that stands at the intersection of sport, culture, and thoughtful design.
